Path MTU Verification Interval is the time interval between attempts at Path MTU verification. Nodes using Path MTU Discovery must detect decreases in PMTU as soon as possible. Nodes can detect increases in PMTU, but this detection must be done at infrequent intervals because it requires sending packets larger than the current estimated PMTU, and because it is unlikely that the PMTU has increased.
To change the PMTU Verification Interval option through the user Operations Interface, enter the following:
NW TCPIP OPT PathMTUVerificationInterval = 15
The default value is 10.
