In IPv6 networks, two features of Neighbor Discovery — Router Discovery and Neighbor Unreachability Detection — enable nodes to determine which neighbors are reachable and to find routers that are able to forward packets for them. These features are described in more detail earlier in this section in IPv6 Neighbor Discovery.
