In this document, the term ClearPath MCP servers refers to ClearPath Libra, FS, and VSE, and ClearPath MCP Software Series systems.

Application host refers to a ClearPath MCP host.

To simplify fully inclusive references, the term Windows is used throughout this guide to refer to supported versions of the Windows operating system.

The term network interface refers to the interface that provides TCP/IP networking from an enterprise server to a local area network (LAN). Network interfaces include an Ethernet port on a Network Interface Card (NIC) or LAN on Motherboard (LOM) that has been assigned in the PCD as an MCP Adapter or Shared Adapter.

The term EVLAN refers to an enhanced virtual LAN connection, a high performance network path for TCP/IP-based data transfers between the MCP and Windows servers of a ClearPath system.
