Terminology Conventions

  • In this document, the term ClearPath MCP servers refers to ClearPath Libra, FS, and VSE, and ClearPath MCP Software Series systems.

  • Application host refers to a ClearPath MCP host.

  • To simplify fully inclusive references, the term Windows is used throughout this guide to refer to supported versions of the Windows operating system.

  • The term network interface refers to the interface that provides TCP/IP networking from an enterprise server to a local area network (LAN). Network interfaces include an Ethernet port on a Network Interface Card (NIC) or LAN on Motherboard (LOM) that has been assigned in the PCD as an MCP Adapter or Shared Adapter.

  • The term EVLAN refers to an enhanced virtual LAN connection, a high performance network path for TCP/IP-based data transfers between the MCP and Windows servers of a ClearPath system.
