Managing Usercodes for Remote Users

If your system is . . .

Then . . .

  • Part of a BNA, OSI, or Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) network

  • Running with security-administrator status enabled

It is recommended that you make sure that remote usercodes are not used as alias usercodes for the security administrator usercode.

The LOCALALIAS feature

  • Enables you to assign all remote users to a generic alias usercode that is nonprivileged and grants remote users only limited access to the system

  • Prevents any remote user from gaining security-administrator status on your system
