A version level is stored in the database generated by FILEDATA. When the format of the database changes such that a FILEDATA version other than the original FILEDATA version cannot use the database, the version level is incremented.

If a saved database, created with the NEWDATABASE modifier, is reused (by using the DATABASE modifier), the database version level must be compatible with the FILEDATA version.
