RECREATEDIRECTORY Function

The RECREATEDIRECTORY function reads through the stacked tape noting each virtual tape volume and its appropriate amount of information along the way. At the end of the data, it writes a new directory with the information gained. It then displays the new directory information for each of the virtual tape volumes on the stacked tape. Some information cannot be regained during a RECREATEDIRECTORY. If some or all of the directory exists on the stacked tape and the information is valid, that information persists through the RECREATEDIRECTORY.
