The TAPE modifier enables FILEDATA to report on the files from the specified library maintenance tape. By default, the full directory of the library maintenance tape is accessed.

TAPE overrides the DATABASE and DIRECTORY modifiers for the FILENAMES, COPYDECK, and NOREPORTS requests that do not have the TAPEHEADERS modifier. DIRECTORY is used to select the files from a library maintenance tape when the full tape is accessed to obtain disk file headers.
