Control options that are available when SYSTEM/MAKEUSER is run can be set or reset—that is, assigned the value TRUE or FALSE, respectively—in SET or RESET statements, or they can be invoked by control records. The control options can affect the error recovery, the input source, and the output listing.

Session control options are denoted by a dollar sign ($) in column 1 of the input record. In interactive mode, the record is limited to 80 characters and extra data is ignored.
