Error Reporting

Your input to FILEDATA can include more than one request, separated by semicolons. FILEDATA handles one request at a time as follows:

  • First, it scans the input text for a request.

  • Next, if there are no severe errors in the syntax, it produces the requested report.

  • Finally, FILEDATA prints out the following information:

    • The identifier of the requested task

    • Your input syntax for that task

    • Error or warning messages for any discrepancies FILEDATA found in your input
