SAVEINPUT

── SAVEINPUT ──<file title>────────────────────────────────────────────┤

(Type: Boolean; Default: FALSE)

If the value of the SAVEINPUT option is TRUE, the designated disk file receives a copy of each input line read by MAKEUSER, except disk file input—that is, input from the file designated by the INPUT option---or break responses. A usercode and timestamp are written to the file when it is opened. A file title is required if the SAVEINPUT option is TRUE. If the value of the SAVEINPUT option is changed from TRUE to FALSE, no further data is copied to the designated disk file. If the designated file already exists, any new records are added to the end of that file. If the file does not exist, it is created.

You can use the SAVEINPUT option to record MAKEUSER input for diagnostic or audit purposes. For example, including a SAVEINPUT AUDITMU record in a DEFAULTDEFINES file causes each execution of MAKEUSER to copy the input to the file AUDITMU.
