The ENCRYPT function takes either labeled or unlabled tapes and copies data from the tape onto a new tape encrypting the original data in the process.
The encryption method used is specified using the SETTINGS function. The passphrase supplied by the user must be supplied for a decrypt operation.
The encryption functionality requires the user to have MCPCryptographic Services with user level keys installed on the system. For more information on MCPCryptographic Services, refer to the MCP Security Overview and Implementation Guide.
