You can use three methods to initiate DUMPANALYZER at the ODT. The ODT can receive only limited output, such as the HELP command information. Output from most commands is sent to a print file, which can be printed as soon as the session terminates. If you enter the RELX (Release Now) command, information is sent to the printer during the session.
Method 1
In the first method, enter the following command:
RUN SYSTEM/DUMPANALYZER; FILE OPTIONS(KIND=ODT)
When necessary, file-equate TAPEIN to the input dump file.
When DUMPANALYZER initializes, it displays
-
The following message:
-------------------------------------------------- FUNCTIONS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ARE
-
A list of commands and the following message:
"HELP" FOR THIS LIST, "HELP HELP" FOR MORE INFO
-
The following message:
ENTER REQUESTS . . .
You can now enter DUMPANALYZER commands.
Method 2
The second method uses the DA (Dump Analyzer) system command. Refer to the System Commands Reference Manual for a complete description of the DA command. Method 2 is a shorter way to initiate DUMPANALYZER. For example, entering DA is equivalent to entering the command shown in Method 1.
