Screen Interface

You can access the MARC version of the screen interface by selecting TOOLS from the MARC home menu and then selecting EVA from the TOOLS menu.

You can access the EST version of the screen interface, shown in Initial COPYV2A Screen , by entering the command syntax U *SYSTEM/EVA/COPYV2A.

This screen requires you to enter the tape name, which must be from one to six characters.

If you are copying a file from a reel that is not the first reel of the series, enter one of the following:

  • The unit number where the tape is loaded, prefaced by the at (@) sign, such as @MT161.

  • An arbitrary name such as XXX.

When the utility waits for the first reel of the tape, the cursor drops to the next line on the screen. Home the cursor and use the IL (Ignore Label) system command to enter the tape name.

If you transmit a blank tape name, COPYV2A terminates.

You must choose a menu option from this screen. The options do the following:

Copy files from tape that do not already exist on the target system

Show Directory

Display a directory of the files on a V Series tape

Print Directory

Print a listing of a directory of the files on a V Series tape

Get new tape

Brings back the first menu where the user can enter the name of the tape

Quit the utility

When you select either Show Directory or Print Directory from the main screen, this screen appears.

This screen enables you to do the following: Display or print a list of all V Series files by pressing the Xmit key. This is the default.

  • Enter a mask pattern for files to be displayed or printed. For example, if you want to display all files beginning with the letters AB, you would type AB=.

  • Enter a pattern for files to be excluded from those being displayed or printed. For example, if you wanted to display or print a list of all files except those beginning with ABC, you would type ABC=.

COPY or ADD Screen in EST

The COPYV2A Copy or Add screen is shown in COPYV2A Copy or Add Screen .

When you select either Copy or Add from the main screen, this screen appears.

You can enter data in the following fields:

Enter the mask pattern for the files that are to be copied or added.

Exclude names

Enter the mask pattern for the files that are not to be copied or added.

MCP directory name

Optional

Enter the directory under which the specified files are to be copied. For example, if you enter SRC and the designated file name is PPO001, the utility copies the designated file as SRC/PPO001. If you do not specify a directory name, the utility copies the files with the same names they had on the V Series system.

Pack name

Optional

Enter the name of the pack where the files are to be copied. If you do not designate a name, the system uses your default family.

File type

Optional

Enter the file KIND value. Refer to the table provided with the syntax diagram <file type> in the “Command Interface” subsection.
