The FAMILYNAME = <family name> modifier changes the source of information from the family named DISK to the specified family. The entire pack is used in the report unless the DIRECTORY or TITLE modifier is also specified. On cataloging systems, you can specify <family name> TAPE to obtain information about catalogued tape files. FAMILYNAME is the preferred mnemonic for PACKNAME.
The FAMILYNAME modifier is invalid with the DATABASE and TAPE modifiers. If you specify a FAMILYNAME and a TITLE or DIRECTORY title with an ON <family name> clause in the same task request, then FILEDATA uses the family name you specified with the FAMILYNAME modifier.
If you specify FAMILYNAME in one task request, then FILEDATA uses the same family name for subsequent task requests unless you specify DIRECTORY, TITLE, or a new value for FAMILYNAME in those subsequent task requests.
