The DIRECTORY function reads the header information on the specified physical tape and displays descriptive information for each of the virtual tape volumes on the stacked tape. Invalid volumes are not listed in the directory listing.
The information displayed consists of
VOLID |
The volume ID number of the virtual tape volume |
SERIAL |
Original serial number of the virtual tape volume |
TYPE |
The type of tape drive from which the virtual tape volume was created |
STACK DATE |
The date when the virtual tape volume was created |
SIZE (MB) |
The size in MB of the virtual tape volume |
COMMENT |
An optional comment added when the virtual tape volume was created. If the volume is encrypted, the comment field shows (ENCRYPTED). |
Note: | For an 18-track tape that was stacked from a 36-track drive, the type appears as 36-track in the directory listing. |
